Kids are meant to get a minimum of one hour's exercise at least five times a week. But how do you drag them away from the TV or computer? Try these simple, inexpensive tips.
- Walk the dog or borrow a friend's.
- Kick a ball around together.
- Have sports equipment, like skipping ropes, space hoppers or basketball rings, at home.
- Go swimming.
- Encourage them to try out a sport - maybe football, tennis, dance classes or ice skating. Whatever they fancy.
- If your child has a computer, why not invest in a 'dance mat' or 'spy camera' game? And they'll be exercising without even knowing it!
